Navigator Spring Hockey

2026 Scallywag Spring Hockey Information:

The Navigator Spring hockey program will be series of practices and possible games for South Central Navigator players. The program is designed so players can participate even if they are in other activities. This is an opportunity to continue to build on the high school season, for a reasonable fee. This program is intended to build skills and be fun for the participants. Emphasis will be given to skills work in practice and hustle on game days. Don't be surprised if players are asked to play in positions they have not in the past, with the exception of Goalies. Participants will be given equal practice opportunities regardless of skill level.

Schedule: The season is scheduled for April 12 - May 31, 2025. Practices are on Sundays starting at 5:30 pm at the Ice Pond in Waunakee. There is a possibility of 1-2 games being scheduled - TBD. There will be no activities Memorial Day weekend.

Cost/Payment: $150 - The fees cover roughly ice time fees and, if needed, fees for referees. In total your skater should get around 25 hours of ice time. There will be no tournament fees outside of the registration fee. Full payment/registration will be due by Saturday, April 11th.

Participants: Participants who are eligible to play in the upcoming High School Season.

Travel/Locations: Practices will be held at the Ice Pond in Waunakee. If games are scheduled, they will be hosted by the participating programs. We will use the Ice Pond in Waunakee for home games. There will be no overnight travel required.

Coaches: There will be parent coaches volunteering their time to work with the players. We will always have an adult present at practices and on the bench at games. We will also have 2 student coaches as a mentorship program assisting at practices.

Jerseys: The South Central Navigator BLC worked to identify a name and jersey for offseason work. The South Central Scallywags jerseys can be purchased through the BLC for a one-time $50 fee. Players will use these jersey's during all offseason programing and can keep them when finished. This will be handled outside of registration. If there is no need for jerseys during this session, there will be opportunity in the upcoming summer session to purchase.

Games: If games are scheduled for this session, the periods will be 15 minutes. There will be two referees at each games. We will need some parent volunteers to keep help with clock, music, and penalties. We will not keep a scorecard, but will keep track of wins and losses. If we play a doubleheader, there will be a break between games, probably around 30 minutes.
